01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Wyandotte is one of Downriver's most charming river towns, and every July it hosts one of the biggest art fairs in Michigan. The Acanthus Art Society started it in 1961, and 2026 marked the 65th fair. Biddle Avenue closes to traffic for four days as roughly 300 juried artists show paintings, photography, jewelry, woodwork and more; 2025 had more exhibitors than ever. Add 35 restaurants and the fresh-squeezed lemonade booths that raise money for local nonprofits. Thanks to the downtown social district, you can grab a drink to go and browse with it.
