Make time for these
Willow Run opened in 1942 next to Ford's giant Willow Run plant, which turned out 8,865 B-24 Liberator bombers during World War II. Today Wayne County owns it, the same authority that runs DTW manages it, and it serves cargo, corporate charters and general aviation; there are no scheduled airline flights. It has two runways, a 24-hour FAA tower and U.S. Customs. One hangar holds the Michigan Flight Museum, with vintage aircraft and historic plane rides.
- Opened in 1942 beside the B-24 bomber plant
- Cargo, charter and private flying only
