What’s it like to stay here?
Sterling is the only Michigan state park on Lake Erie, about an hour from Detroit. Its modern campground has 256 mostly paved sites, most within view of the lake, with 20- or 30-amp electric (50-amp on 76 sites) and a sanitation station. The park also rents 10 full-amenity lakeview cottages that sleep seven, with a two-night minimum, run by DNR partner Vista Recreation.

Getting there
Reserve by phone at 800-447-2757 or online. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry, and a trail links the park to downtown Monroe.
