A free downtown street music festival in Albion where you walk between bands playing at stops along Superior Street and its side streets.
01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Albion College chemistry professor Cliff Harris brought over the Walk the Beat concept, founded by Dave Palmer in Grand Haven, and the Albion edition began in 2016. Each stop has prize drawings and the bands compete; for the 10th year in 2026, bands came from across Michigan and Two Soups and the Salad Bar won the $2,000 prize. The nonprofit organizer uses the event to fund free music lessons and instruments for local kids.
