Waffle Cabin is the Belgian waffle brand skiers know from the slopes, and its metro Detroit franchise is a mobile unit. The waffles are true Liège style: a yeast-raised dough studded with pearl sugar that caramelizes on the iron, crisp outside and soft inside, served plain or with chocolate. The company began in 1998 as a pushcart at Boston's Quincy Market before moving into ski resorts. In Michigan you'll also find it at Boyne Mountain, Crystal Mountain and The Highlands.
