The Vogue opened in downtown Manistee on January 12, 1938 in Streamline Moderne style, designed, per Cinema Treasures, by Pereira and Pereira (Hal and William L. Pereira). It closed in 2005 and was completely rehabilitated by the nonprofit Historic Vogue Theatre of Manistee, a project filmmaker Michael Moore helped get off the ground and hundreds of volunteers carried through. It reopened on December 7, 2013 with a 187-seat main auditorium, later joined by a 44-seat second screen. Besides new releases, it runs $2 Wednesday classics, 25-cent Saturday family matinees, a Forgotten Movie Club and a monthly Port City Arthouse Night. On September 30, 2026, Wednesday Classics plays Carrie (1976), and on October 3 the 25-cent matinee is Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
