Grammy-nominated composer De'Sean Jones started the Urban Art Orchestra as a way to play with the city's best musicians. It debuted as a quartet at Cliff Bell's in April 2022 and has grown into a 30-piece ensemble with strings, harp, horns, DJs and dancers. The orchestra has worked with Big Sean, T-Pain, Slum Village and Mad Mike Banks, and at the DSO it played its own arrangements of MF Doom, J Dilla, Q-Tip and Pharrell.
