Tipping Point Theatre produces five plays and musicals a year in a 143-seat house whose seating is reconfigured for each show. The building at 361 E. Cady Street was once an industrial space where car-wash products were made. Weathercaster Chuck Gaidica and developer Chuck Lapham sketched the idea on a napkin at Joseph's Coney Island on Main Street, and borrowed the name from Malcolm Gladwell's book The Tipping Point. After a two-year pandemic closure it reopened under new artistic leadership, and Detroit Metro Times readers named it Best Small Professional Theatre in 2025. Season 19 (2026-27) opens with Aping Jane (September 23-October 18, 2026) and closes with the musical The Break (June 2-27, 2027).

The theatre is at 361 E Cady St. in downtown Northville. Public parking nearby fills up fast, so come early or drop your group off out front. The box office answers at (248) 347-0003, Wednesday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Previews $25; standard $40 (Zone 2) or $48 (Zone 1); seniors and military $42; students $20; card processing fee of 5% plus $0.85 per ticket.

Infants in arms are not admitted.

Parking

Public parking around downtown Northville fills quickly; you can drop off at the front of the theatre on East Cady Street.
