The Tin Shop Theatre lives in a building a Buchanan merchant put up in 1865-66 in the heart of downtown. Over the years it served as a furniture factory, a lumber business, a hospital during the 1918 flu epidemic and a Clark Equipment plant before it became a playhouse. The 2026 season ran from the church comedy Welcome Back to Ivy Gap to a staged reading of Mothers and Sons. On November 13-15 it stages Ladies First, a comedy about Jackie Kennedy in 1962.
