On the corner of Division Avenue and Weston Street, The Ruse runs on the tagline 'Old. Fashioned. Fun.' Its three indoor rooms: The Inventor's Guild, where you stop a rogue inventor's dangerous creation; The Trophy Room, where you trace a vanished world-famous huntsman; and the advanced Checkmate, a spy game set at a Moscow chess tournament in December 1962. Two identical rooms let teams race head-to-head, up to 16 players in all. Outdoors, The Circle sends your team with a backpack of supplies through 10 downtown Grand Rapids locations.

Plan your visit

It's open Friday through Sunday, with Monday–Thursday by appointment only. Small groups can book socially (you may be paired with other players) or take a room privately. Recommended for 13+, anyone under 18 needs a legal guardian along, and the Weston Ramp is right across the street.
