Make time for these
Melissa Butler started The Lip Bar in 2012 by mixing lipstick in her kitchen, then walked away from Wall Street to grow it. Shark Tank turned her down, and the brand is now sold in more than 2,000 stores, including Target and Walmart. The home base is the downtown Detroit flagship on Woodward, opened in fall 2023, stocked with the full vegan, cruelty-free lineup. Swatch shades, book a glam session or a one-on-one lesson, or stop at the brow bar.
