The Hayloft opened in 1974 as a country bar that hosted stars such as Carl Perkins, and after Ron Masters bought it in 1988 it became Macomb County's best-known rock bar. National rock acts including Bret Michaels, Quiet Riot, Rik Emmett, Don Dokken, The Tubes, Jani Lane, Firehouse, Great White and Ratt's Stephen Pearcy played there alongside local bands such as Sponge and Adrenalin, and Sebastian Bach once sang 'I Remember You' standing on its tables. Macomb County shut it down in October 2011 after foreclosure; reopening attempts failed, and the 7,500-square-foot building was demolished around 2019–2020.
