Tecovas launched online in 2015 out of Austin, founded by Paul Hedrick, with boots made in León, Mexico. The brand started opening real stores in 2019, and its Woodward Avenue shop is the first one in Michigan, tucked into the ground floor of the new Hudson's Detroit building. You'll find cowboy and work boots, jeans, hats, belts and leather bags, plus a free non-alcoholic drink while you try things on. It's a fun stop if you've ever wondered how a proper pair of boots is supposed to fit.
