Henry Scripps Booth and friends founded St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook in 1932, naming it after the patron saint of the performing arts. Since 1946 its home has been the Pavilion on the Cranbrook campus, a former open-air shelter for the Greek Theatre that was converted to a design by Eliel Saarinen. The outdoor Cranbrook Greek Theatre, designed by Marcus Burrowes, opened in 1916 with a 132-member cast that included silent-film star Constance Binney, and the premiere, with Henry Ford in attendance, got rained out. The volunteer guild stages four shows a season, usually ending with a June musical in the 350-seat amphitheater. The 2026-27 season opens with The Last Five Years on October 9, 2026, and Cabaret plays the outdoor Greek Theatre on May 28, 2027.

For Greek Theatre shows, the ticket table upstairs in the Playhouse opens at 6:30 p.m., seating starts at 7:15 p.m. and every show begins at 8 p.m.
