The Somerset Cinema opened on June 27, 1973, beneath the Somerset Inn hotel in Troy. You bought your ticket at a round box office in the hotel lobby and walked down a wide stairway to the auditoriums. It started with two screens, and a third was added in 1978. It closed on March 25, 1984.
