Make time for these
Shakespeare in Detroit began in 2012 as Shakespeare Against Cancer, bringing classical performances to children and families in Detroit hospitals. In 2013 it produced the city's first Shakespeare in the park, and it calls itself Detroit's first professional theatre company devoted to Shakespeare and the classics. It performs in parks, theatres and non-traditional venues. The Shakespeare STEAM school program followed in 2019, and a summer conservatory for Detroit teens in 2021. Founder Sam White leads the company.
