Make time for these
SC4 Cinema at Sperry's occupies the historic Sperry's Department Store building on Huron Avenue; the store itself ran from 1923 to 2000. It opened as Sperry's Moviehouse on December 15, 2016 after a $10 million conversion by Charter House Innovations, bringing first-run films back downtown for the first time since the Huron Theatre closed in 1990. Its 12 intimate auditoriums seat 27 to 44 each, 420 in all, in custom recliners, and in the Sperry's Moviehouse days a second-floor restaurant fed moviegoers too. St. Clair County Community College (SC4) now runs it as SC4 Cinema, adding educational events to the first-run lineup.
