What’s it like to stay here?
Louis Kamper designed the 38-story Book Tower in 1926, and for a short while it was Detroit's tallest building. By 2009 it was completely empty; Bedrock bought it in 2015 and spent more than $300 million bringing it back. It reopened in June 2023 with rental apartments and 117 ROOST hotel units. Every suite has a full kitchen and its own washer and dryer, so settling in for a month is easy. Dinner is an elevator ride away: the building has the French brasserie Le Suprême, the Japanese restaurant HIROKI-SAN, the Kamper's rooftop bar and three more bars, plus event space under the restored glass rotunda.
