Make time for these
Muskegon Civic Theatre is the community theatre company in residence at the Frauenthal Center downtown. Most productions play the intimate 169-seat Beardsley Theater, bigger musicals take the main Frauenthal stage, and some plays use a black-box setup on the Frauenthal Theater stage. The 2026-27 season opens with Sondheim's Company on October 9-24, followed by It's a Wonderful Life, The Lifespan of a Fact and The Importance of Being Earnest. The musical Matilda wraps things up on April 29 to May 2, 2027.

Summer & outdoor theater / Grand Rapids
Circle Theatre
Grand Rapids' summer community theatre since 1953. It started in a hotel room, then played a park pavilion that housed the zoo's monkeys in winter. Today it's at Aquinas College's Performing Arts Center.
