Motor City Youth Theatre is an educational youth theatre company founded in 1990 by Fred and Nancy Florkowski, first known as Redford Youth Theatre/Tinderbox Productions. Nancy, a retired South Redford drama teacher, has been artistic director since 1990. The company performs at its own Motor City Theatre on Grantland in Livonia, where the grown-up MCYT Adult Players also take the stage. The Bard Bums are its Shakespeare company for grades 3-12. In 2026 it marks 36 years, including an original America 250 play, Joey's Field Trip to Detroit.
