The Metropolitan Museum of Design Detroit, MM-O-DD for short, is a nonprofit design museum built around Detroit's status as the only UNESCO City of Design in the U.S. It started in 2011 as a fashion and arts fest, debuted in a 10-by-10-foot booth during Detroit Month of Design, and has been on the third floor of 905 Henry St since 2020. Beyond exhibitions, it runs biomimicry programming named for Eric Saarinen and steers young people toward design careers. Recent shows covered sports by design and portraits of veterans.
