Mays Multimedia started as Mays Printing in 1946, founded by J. Caulton Mays, a Tuskegee Airman and Wilberforce University graduate, and the business literally began in a Detroit streetcar. His son James C. Mays took over in 1986, and since 2011 granddaughter Elizabeth Mays has run it as a Black female-owned company. Today it handles same-day business printing, design, event and memorial programs, book production, signage and apparel.
