Thomas Theatre Group opened Marquette Cinemas on May 16, 2014: ten screens, 1,200 seats, designed by TK Architects with room to grow to 14 screens. The star is the “Thomas Superior Experience,” or TSX, a large-format screen measuring 35 by 60 feet. Prefer a smaller crowd? There's a 35-seat VIP auditorium. The company's roots go back to 1922, when Martin Dawe Thomas began running theatres across the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin. In late September 2026 the lineup included Heart of the Beast, Primetime, Insidious: Out of the Further and Forgotten Island.
