The Maple Theater opened on March 23, 1977, as the Maple 1-2-3, a Suburban Detroit Theaters house with three screens and 920 seats. AMC took it over in 1992 and Landmark Theatres in 1998. In 2012 Cloud Nine Theater Partners reopened it as an independent art house with a coffeehouse and a full bar. It closed abruptly on February 5, 2024. It had been demolished by November 2024, and the site is now a vacant lot.
