For more than thirty years, Schoolcraft College's theatre program has staged classic and modern plays at the James R. Hartman Theatre on its Livonia campus. Students and community members share the cast list, because auditions are open to everyone. Livonia Kids Community Theatre brings its kids' shows here too. The 2026-27 season features Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound on November 6-7 and Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit on April 9-10, 2027. If you've always wanted to be on stage, this is your chance to try out.

A volunteer community theatre in Livonia, playing the Fellowship Hall of Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church. The 2026–27 season brings Tales from the Scrypt, The Cake and Men on Boats, then Julius Caesar in the park in summer.

Motor City Youth Theatre (Motor City Theatre)
A Livonia youth theatre that's been teaching kids the stage since 1990, with its own playhouse on Grantland. There's an adult troupe too, plus a youth Shakespeare company called the Bard Bums.

Avon Players Theatre
A volunteer-run community theatre in Rochester Hills, in a historic A-frame playhouse on Washington Road. Its production history starts with the 1947–48 season, and 2026–27 brings Twelve Angry Men, August: Osage County and Dear Evan Hansen.
