What’s it like to stay here?
The neoclassical Gabriel Richard Building was turned into Sonder short-term rentals in 2019. When Sonder collapsed in November 2025, the suites carried on as Hotel Houze. Every suite has a full kitchen, an in-unit washer and dryer and a living area, and there are weekly and monthly rates with utilities included. There's no restaurant, but the gym is open 24 hours. In town for weeks on a project, or just want to cook your own dinner? This one's for you, and the Michigan Avenue People Mover station is right next door.

Getting there
Driving? The lot across the street at 1119 Washington Blvd is $30 a night, and the DAX airport express bus stops at the same address. Check-in is at 4 pm, check-out at 11 am, and the People Mover loops you around downtown.
