01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Trinity's congregation dates to 1850, founded by German-speaking Lutherans, and the current church was dedicated on February 15, 1931, after its cornerstone went in in 1929. It became a Michigan State Historic Site in 1981 and joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and 132 Lutheran parishes in southeast Michigan trace their roots here. The church bills itself as 'America's Lutheran Cathedral,' and the stained glass, wood and stone carvings, Skinner organ and bells back that up.
