Every September, the Grand Rapids Film Festival gathers feature films, documentaries, short films, music videos and commercials into one weekend. The 2026 edition ran September 11-13: a free opening night at Muse GR, then a day of screenings, a creative marketing workshop, the 24-hour one-minute microfilm challenge and an awards show at the Grand Rapids African American Museum and Archives. On Sunday the films moved to Celebration Cinema Studio Park, both inside and outdoors on its piazza. Each submitted film is watched in full by at least three members of the selection committee.
