Make time for these
The Getty opened on July 3, 1949 as the NK Drive-In, named for owner Nick Kuris. Jack Loeks, founder of what became Celebration Cinema, bought it in 1966 and renamed it the Getty Drive-In. Three more screens went up in 1978, giving it four screens and room for about 1,200 cars. Grand Rapids-based Celebration Cinema still runs it, with double features and FM sound in season.
