General Wood Shop opened in July 2023 on Grand Rapids' West Side, in a building once home to a 1940s furniture store of the same name. The LGBTQ+-owned lounge served cocktails, mocktails and fusion food, with karaoke, drag shows and DJs on the calendar. After about two years, it announced its closure on social media in November 2025.
