C. Howard Crane designed the Fox Theatre on Woodward Avenue. Its elaborate lobby and monumental auditorium preserve the ambition of the movie-palace era while hosting contemporary live entertainment. Near Comerica Park, the theater forms part of downtown’s concentrated entertainment district. An evening here connects Detroit’s historic show-business architecture with a present-day performance.
