01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903, backed by twelve investors including John and Horace Dodge. It's still a Dearborn company: in November 2025 it opened a new Snøhetta-designed Ford World Headquarters on Oakwood Boulevard, across from The Henry Ford, and the old Glass House is slated to come down in 2027. In Detroit, Ford's Corktown campus centers on Michigan Central Station, which it bought as the hub.
