02 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Farmington Players started in 1953 as an offshoot of the American Association of University Women, staging their first show, The Torchbearers, in a local church. Later in the 1950s the group moved into a real dairy barn on Twelve Mile Road, first performing downstairs on a dirt floor before the theatre moved upstairs into a finished auditorium. The Barn sits behind a restored gold farmhouse and is run entirely by volunteers. The 2026–27 season is the company's 73rd: The Haunting of Hill House runs September 25 to October 10, 2026, the musical Little Women December 4–19, 2026, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels April 30 to May 22, 2027.
