Elwood Bar & Grill
A 1936 Art Moderne diner-turned-bar that was moved whole in 1997 to make way for Comerica Park; now a game-day classic.

01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Elwood's streamlined Art Moderne building was designed by Charles Noble and built in 1936. Its name blends its original cross streets, Elizabeth and Woodward. When Comerica Park went up in 1997, the building wasn't torn down; it was moved in one piece to its current spot on East Adams. It isn't an every-day bar: it opens for Tigers and Lions games, concerts and other stadium events, and it can be rented for private parties.
