DuMouchelles

Detroit's family-run auction house since 1927, in an Albert Kahn building on Jefferson: monthly sales of fine art, jewelry and estates.

01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

DuMouchelles began in 1927, when World War I veteran J. Norman DuMouchelle opened "The Art Salon" in a historic Jefferson Avenue home and held weekly fine art auctions. Business boomed, and the firm moved into the Albert Kahn-designed building at 409 East Jefferson, still its home today. The family has handled estates for Detroit names like the Fishers, Whitneys and Dodge Wilsons, and now runs monthly live and online auctions of art, jewelry and antiques.
