01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Michigan DNR runs the Outdoor Adventure Center on Detroit's riverfront, inside the historic Globe Building, once part of the Detroit Dry Dock Engine Works where a young Henry Ford apprenticed as a machinist from 1880 to 1882. Inside, Michigan's outdoors come to you: walk behind a waterfall, reel in a fish from a boat, and hop on mountain bike and snowmobile simulators. There are also archery programs, fishing activities and sensory-friendly days, and admission is a bargain.
- Waterfall, boat fishing and simulators
