Make time for these
This kayak and paddleboard outfitter runs its tours out of Jefferson Chalmers, May through October, nearly every weekend and most weekdays. The Belle Isle tour is a seven-mile, roughly three-hour paddle that stops at the old Boblo Boat site and the Livingstone Memorial. Private tours and lessons are available by appointment too.

How to book and where to meet
Some paddling experience is recommended for the Belle Isle tour, which departs from Detroit River Sports' own dock. Book by email or phone; kids under twelve must share a tandem kayak with an adult.
