Make time for these
Detroit Hives began in winter 2016, when Timothy Paule Jackson found that local raw honey knocked out a cold nothing else could. He and partner Nicole Lindsey took beekeeping classes, bought their first lot in 2017 and started their first urban bee farm. Since then they've grown a network of more than 38 sites across Southeast and South-Central Michigan, created the first educational apiary in Detroit and, in 2019, launched National Urban Beekeeping Day, held every July 19.
