03 / The story of this place
What’s it like to stay here?
The Delamar sits right on West Grand Traverse Bay, a short walk from downtown Traverse City. Built in 1968, it was the West Bay Beach Holiday Inn Resort until Connecticut's Greenwich Hospitality Group bought it in January 2019 for $23.2 million and turned it into a Delamar after a phased renovation of about $10 million. The 179 rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, and the heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub and sauna are open year-round, along with the Yen Yoga + Fitness studio. Dinner is at Artisan, right on the water.
