What’s it like to stay here?
Henry Ford had this Georgian-style inn built in 1931, designed by Albert Kahn, to house visitors flying into his Ford Airport across Oakwood Boulevard, which is why it's often called one of the first airport hotels. The 23-acre grounds also hold five replica colonial homes from 1937, named for figures like Edgar Allan Poe and Walt Whitman, that now serve as guest suites. Ford Land closed the inn in February 2023 for a full restoration guided by the Ford archives, and it reopened on March 19, 2025 in Marriott's Autograph Collection with 135 rooms. Eat at Clara's Table, grab a cocktail at the Four Vagabonds bar, and if you're planning an event, there are 17,000 square feet of space, historic ballroom included. It's a natural base for a museum weekend: The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village are a few minutes away.
