Dearborn High School, one of the oldest public high schools in Dearborn, was founded in 1893, decades before Henry Ford's auto empire made the town famous. Actor George Peppard — later known for Breakfast at Tiffany's and The A-Team — graduated from Dearborn High in 1946, when the school still stood at Mason Street and Garrison Avenue in old downtown Dearborn. The district moved the school to its current Outer Drive campus in 1956, replacing the original building. Dearborn High remains a public high school today, serving a city that later became home to one of the largest Arab-American communities in the United States.
