Make time for these
Founded in 1971, the center has galleries, classes, a school of ballet and a theater. Its Downtown Sound performing-arts series runs September to March and brings in touring and Michigan acts playing folk, jazz, blues, brass and classical music, plus dance. Detroit funk-rock band The Proud Naturals, for example, plays on October 17, 2026.
