Michigan's top classic car concours began in 1979 at Meadow Brook Hall, moved to Plymouth and then the DIA; Hagerty put it on hold after 2023.

It began in 1979 as the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance on the lawns of Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills, where collectors showed off the rarest classics in Michigan. In 2011 it moved to The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth and became the Concours d'Elegance of America, with around 300 classic and rare cars spread across the golf course grounds. Hagerty bought the event in 2021, held one last Plymouth show that July, and relaunched it in 2022 as the Detroit Concours d'Elegance at the Detroit Institute of Arts in Midtown. The 2023 show brought 150 rare cars to the DIA, but Hagerty canceled 2024 to rethink the event, and it hasn't been held since.
