Common Ground was created in 2000 by Center Park Productions and Meridian Entertainment Group and presented rock, pop, alternative, folk, country, hip-hop and R&B acts. It peaked at about 87,000 visitors in 2003, later drew 50,000–60,000 a year and was credited with more than $50 million in local economic impact. It ran every year from 2000 to 2019, skipped 2020 and returned once in 2021.
