Make time for these
The Calvin Theatre Company is Calvin University's student theatre troupe in Grand Rapids, performing in Gezon Auditorium and the Lab Theatre in the Spoelhof University Center. Each season brings three main-stage productions and three lab-series shows, open to all Calvin students. A recent Bye Bye Birdie turned heads by casting the lead role of Kim MacAfee as two actors at once, one signing in ASL and one speaking and singing. Season 93 is still to be announced.

Summer & outdoor theater / Grand Rapids
Circle Theatre
Grand Rapids' summer community theatre since 1953. It started in a hotel room, then played a park pavilion that housed the zoo's monkeys in winter. Today it's at Aquinas College's Performing Arts Center.

Dog Story Theater
A small black-box stage on State Street SE in Grand Rapids that local companies, comedians and performers rent for their own shows. The new Dog Star Series adds three bigger productions a year.
