Make time for these
Beckwith Theatre Company is Dowagiac's community theatre, formed in January 1990 by residents who wanted to revive the town's stage heritage. It takes its name from the Beckwith Memorial Theater, built with Round Oak Furnace Company money, where Lillian Russell sang and John Philip Sousa conducted in 1911. More than 70 volunteers, ages 7 to 70, founded the company. Today it produces a main-stage season plus a local playwrights' festival, improv and a summer youth program. Fall 2026 brings Wait Until Dark on October 9 and A Christmas Carol, adapted by Larry Nielsen, on December 3.

Circle Theatre
Grand Rapids' summer community theatre since 1953. It started in a hotel room, then played a park pavilion that housed the zoo's monkeys in winter. Today it's at Aquinas College's Performing Arts Center.

Grand Rapids' big 2,404-seat stage, where the Broadway tours land and the Grand Rapids Symphony plays. This fall brings The Notebook and Maybe Happy Ending, and The Phantom of the Opera arrives in August 2027.
