Actress Elizabeth Reaser, who later became known for playing Esme Cullen in the Twilight film series and for a recurring role on Grey's Anatomy, transferred here after attending the Academy of the Sacred Heart in nearby Bloomfield Hills, and graduated from Avondale in 1993. The school has continued to operate as a public high school in the decades since, serving the Auburn Hills community much as it did during Reaser's time there.
