01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Teftis family opened Astoria Pastry Shop on Monroe Street in Greektown in 1971, and it's been a Detroit dessert stop ever since. The cases hold more than 100 kinds of pastries, which you can eat in with a cup of the shop's own specialty coffee or box up to take home. It stays open until 11 p.m. on weekends, so it works for dessert after dinner in Greektown or a game downtown. Want a whole cake? Order at least 48 hours ahead.
- Family-run by the Teftis family since 1971
- More than 100 kinds of pastries
- Open until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
- Custom cakes with 48 hours' notice
