The Apartment Lounge is widely described as Michigan's oldest gay bar: it opened in 1972 at Monroe and Fulton and moved to its current home on Sheldon Avenue in 1988. It's a relaxed, pub-style bar whose patio faces the Rainbow Road street mural and Veterans Memorial Park. Weekly themes include karaoke, trivia and bingo, and in June it throws the Pride Block street party.
