03 / The story of this place
What’s it like to stay here?
The complex opened in 1989 on 137 acres by Ford Lake, designed by architect Karl V. Litten. Eastern Michigan University owns the conference center (about 27,000 sq ft) and the par-72 Eagle Crest Golf Club, while Marriott runs the roughly 240-room hotel. Golfers get an 18-hole parkland course, four indoor Trackman simulator bays and the Lakeview restaurant, and Eagle Crest landed at No. 9 among US college courses in Golf Pass's 2025 Golfers' Choice list. It's the county's main golf-and-meetings resort and a quiet alternative to staying in Ann Arbor itself.
